Project

HOODA SOFTWARE

Hooda Software is a modular cloud ERP/POS system I built and sell to Mozambican pharmacies and SMEs. It handles sales, stock, expiry control, prescriptions, RH, Assets, Booking and accounting in one platform, with multi-tenant architecture and tiered plans. Currently in production across pharmacies in Maputo, Beira, Manica and Pemba.

HOODA SOFTWARE
Description

Hooda Software is a modular cloud-based ERP/POS system that I designed, built and commercialise through Soft Tech Solutions EI. It was purpose-built for the Mozambican context: pharmacies and small-to-medium businesses that need stock control, compliant invoicing and financial management, but have neither the budget nor the infrastructure for traditional enterprise software. Unlike the client projects I deliver, here I own the entire cycle: technical architecture, development, infrastructure, pricing, sales and support.

Key Features
  • Modular Architecture: Independent Sales/POS, Stock, Purchasing, Customers, Finance and Reporting modules that can be enabled per plan, so each client pays only for what they actually use.

  • Pharmacy-Specific Management: Batch and expiry date tracking with automated alerts, prescription handling, drug categorisation and controlled-substance traceability.

  • Optimised Point of Sale: A fast POS interface built for keyboard and barcode-scanner operation, engineered to stay stable on unreliable internet connections.

  • Multi-Tenant and Multi-Store: Per-client data isolation with multi-branch management, inter-store stock transfers and group-level report consolidation.

  • Reporting and Business Intelligence: Dashboards for sales, per-product margin, stock rotation and operator performance, with Excel and PDF export.

  • Role-Based Access Control: Granular permissions per role (Admin, manager, pharmacist, cashier) with a full audit trail of every sensitive operation.

Technologies Used
  • Backend: Laravel with modular architecture, RESTful API and a role-based permission system.

  • Frontend: Vue.js with the Quasar Framework, delivering a reactive, consistent interface across desktop and mobile.

  • Database: MySQL/MariaDB, with a planned migration to PostgreSQL on a database-per-tenant model for stronger isolation and scalability.

  • Infrastructure: Docker containers with CI/CD pipelines, managed cloud hosting and automated backup and recovery routines.

  • Integrations: Mozambican mobile money payments, SMS notifications and accounting data export.

Results and Impact
  • Clients in Production: Over 12 paying pharmacies across Maputo, Beira, Manica and Pemba, running daily operations in a live environment.

  • National Footprint: Deployed across four provinces, validating the system under very different connectivity and scale conditions.

  • Sustainable Business Model: A four-tier subscription structure (Essential, Professional, Premium and Enterprise) that keeps entry affordable for small pharmacies while revenue grows with the client.
