Compile is a digital news aggregation platform designed to deliver curated global news to registered users in a simplified and structured format. The platform collects and processes RSS feeds from multiple international sources across various categories, transforming them into summarized news compilations. Users receive automated news digests twice a day, at 7 AM and 7 PM, helping them stay informed quickly without needing to browse multiple news websites.

My Role and Leadership

  • Backend Development: Led the backend development using Laravel and Python to process RSS feeds, manage automated news aggregation, and generate summarized news compilations. 

  • Database Architecture: Designed the relational database structure to efficiently manage news sources, categories, RSS feeds, user accounts, and compiled summaries. 

  • Payment Integration: Implemented payment integrations with M-Pesa and Paystack to support subscription-based access and premium features.
