Custom API development and system integration connecting applications, mobile platforms and third-party services. I build scalable REST APIs for secure data exchange and automation, with formal technical documentation and proper versioning.
An API is a contract. Design it badly and every system that depends on it inherits the problem and changing it later is expensive. I design APIs with the consumer in mind: predictable structure, descriptive errors, versioning from day one, and documentation that saves everyone a meeting. I work both on building new APIs and on integrating with third-party systems that don't always cooperate.
Custom REST APIs: Design and implementation with consistent structure, correct status codes, pagination, filtering and genuinely useful error responses.
Mobile Application APIs: Endpoints optimised for mobile consumption, with token authentication, lightweight payloads and offline sync support.
Third-Party Integration: Connecting to external payment, SMS, mapping, storage and other service APIs, with resilient handling of downtime.
Webhooks and Events: Receiving and emitting events with signature verification, idempotency and failure reprocessing.
Technical Documentation: Formal API documentation in a format other teams can actually use, including request/response examples and flow diagrams.
Security: Authentication, rate limiting, strict input validation and protection against the most common attack vectors.
