Guia de Urgência is a mobile application and administrative platform developed for the Serviço de Emergências Médicas (SEM) of Mozambique. The platform provides healthcare professionals with standardized clinical protocols for managing medical emergencies, covering a multidisciplinary range of specialties. It serves as a digital reference tool designed to improve patient care quality at all levels of the healthcare system — from rural health posts to central hospitals — by offering locally relevant, evidence-based guidelines for stabilizing and treating critical patients across Mozambique.

My Role and Contributions

• Backend Architecture & Development: Designed and developed the entire backend infrastructure, including database modeling, server-side logic, and content management system for clinical protocols. 

• RESTful API Development: Built the API layer to serve clinical protocol data to the mobile application, ensuring efficient data synchronization and offline-ready content delivery. 

• Admin Dashboard: Developed the administrative dashboard for managing medical protocols, disease categories, and content updates published to the mobile app. 

• Team Coordination: Led and coordinated the development team, overseeing task distribution, code reviews, and delivery timelines to ensure project milestones were met.

• Multidisciplinary Coverage: Covers multiple medical specialties and emergency scenarios, serving both newly graduated doctors and experienced specialists.

• Backend Framework: Laravel framework powering the API, admin dashboard, and server-side content management logic. 

• RESTful API: Custom-built API endpoints serving structured medical protocol data to the mobile application with versioned content delivery. 

• Admin Panel: Web-based administrative interface built with Blade templates and JavaScript for managing clinical content and application data. 

• Mobile Application: Android application available on Google Play, designed for quick reference during medical emergencies. 

• Database: MySQL database for structured storage of medical protocols, disease categories, and administrative data.
